Coinland

Client:
CoinLand

Client Description:
Coin
Collectors Paradise!

Objective
:
Our client wanted a powerful application to complement his budding coin distribution business and to integrate it onto the web. The site needed to capture the users attention as soon as they entered the site. There could be no mistaking the purpose of the visitors they were targeting- serious and first time coin collectors. The concept of the site was two-fold: to allow the end user to use CoinLand to select the particular coins they required with minimal distraction, and secondly, to allow their staff to manage the website completely and efficiently from the powerful back end application. The main objective was to bring the entire business process online and eliminate the need to manage any part of the business offline.

Solution:
We decided that their needs would best be met if we designed an extremely robust database that could sufficiently handle the large inventory requirements as well as the robust nature of the end user requirements needed to search through the products.  The staff at CoinLand needed to have full control of the products that would ultimately be displayed on the site as well as an inventory management system , we developed the site around these ideas. The basic principles of functionality for the database were broken down as follows:

Database:

  • CoinLand staff would be able to select products to go onto their unique feature- the ‘Coin-Tinuous Sale’.
  • CoinLand administrators will be able to access the information from the database at any time to utilize the info for targeted campaigns.
  • The database will store all relevant information regarding the amount, type of product etc. This will be categorized and then sub-categorized.
  • The CoinLand staff will be able to upload images of products through their administration console.
  • All orders will be received and fulfilled through the database by the administrator.

Once the user has selected their coins they will be automatically stored together, similar to a shopping cart scenario. At the check out point the coins will be grouped together and shipped accordingly.

The look of the site needed to be clean and simple to navigate as the intention of the site is to sell the coins, and to allow newcomers to navigate easily through the products and get into the art of coin collecting.

Conclusion:
We managed to deliver the finished product to the satisfaction of our client. After testing and debugging the entire site meticulously we were all satisfied with the finished product. The functionality of the site was extremely well received by our client and has been well received by the public. CoinLand is truly one of the Web’s major success story and continues to grow from strength to strength astounding everybody with the sales volume it consistently generates.

We are happy to say that our relationship with CoinLand is a very solid one and we are continuing to work together on some other exciting modules to add to the existing site…watch this space for an update!
